The Trauma Informed Classroom

Traumatized students often demonstrate behaviors that may feel confrontational and can easily lead to misunderstandings, ineffective interventions, and missed learning time. With the right professional training educators can reduce the impact of traumatic experiences and help all children learn, without sacrificing their own mental well-being.

Participants in this class will increase their knowledge of the brain science behind trauma, learn the five essential elements of a trauma-informed classroom/school, and further their understanding of the interplay between race and trauma and their impact  on students within a school system.
