The way in which teachers interact with students and model positive relationships plays a critical role in students’ sense of belonging, emotional safety, ability to collaborate with classmates, and acquisition of social-emotional skills. Unfortunately, most teacher preparation programs leave teachers feeling ill prepared to deal with their own overwhelming social-emotional challenges they face in the classroom, often resulting in burnout.
Through proven activities and guided self-exploration, participants will learn to identify their personal triggers and stress responses so they are better able to respond calmly when faced with student challenges.
